E-Safety
We have to recognise that while technology plays an important role in our children's everyday lives there are risks involved. It is important that while we provide our children with the skills and knowledge to use the ever expanding technology we also provide high quality e-safety education.
e-Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Frisby CE Primary School . We have extensive security measures in place in school, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. Any e-Safety incidents are recorded and managed in accordance with our e-safety policy. e-Safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online.
We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with parents to ensure the e-Safety message is consistent. It is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.
IT’S ESSENTIAL TO BE REALISTIC - BANNING THE INTERNET OR TECHNOLOGY WILL NOT WORK AND IT OFTEN MAKES A CHILD LESS LIKELY TO REPORT A PROBLEM. EDUCATION AROUND SAFE USE IS ESSENTIAL.
It is important that we all play a part in our children’s developing e-safety knowledge and understanding. We have uploaded the latest newsletter from http://www.esafety-adviser.com/ which outlines some key principles and information on e-safety. Parents/carers may wish to subscribe to the newsletter that the site offers, which is available free of charge. Details are available here http://www.esafety-adviser.com/newsletter.html
